In the Iranian digital product landscape, onboarding is frequently undervalued or reduced to a set of static tutorial screens. Many local apps focus on functionality over user engagement during the first-time experience. Digikala, despite being one of the country’s leading e-commerce platforms, currently offers a basic and non-interactive onboarding flow that does little to emotionally connect with users — especially younger demographics. This presented an opportunity to rethink onboarding as a strategic touchpoint for building user loyalty, product understanding, and a more memorable first impression.
